I made this in my spare time with apologies to the creators of HyperCard, to see how it would be on the modern web.
A HyperCard stack is like a pack of note cards that can be flipped through but stay in order. You can add or remove cards from your stack.
Each card can have button and field parts; to edit them, choose the appropriate tool, then drag and resize them.
HyperCard auto-saved your work in the background. Since everything is online now, you can make an account, and share your work from .
Navigate through the stack with the buttons on the left or the arrow keys. Create a new card with .
The authoring tools are above the stack. To make a button part or a field part, switch to the appropriate tool.
Cards, backgrounds, stacks, and button and field parts all have properties you might set or retr eive. Fields also have editable contents.
Make new buttons and fields in the card or the background layer. Double click or long press to access their options. You can also Command-option-click to edit their scripts.
Fields and controls in the background are repeated on every card, but each card can have separate text and card buttons and fields.

Painting is done right on the cards. Just grab a pencil or a paint bucket and get creative with the black and white patterns.
Scripting wasn't necessary for most, but the key to learning scripting is to scroll down to the simulator's own script. You can see everything that's going on, and the message box evaluates xTalk expressions and commands with no judgment.

You can access the Script Editor by pressing in the Information dialog, or Command-Option-click, or touch-hold, or hold down Shift while you double-click.
Scripts catch messages sent by the user, and can perform actions such as beeping or going to the next card, in message handlers like this one:
